What Your Dog's Breed Says About You

What Your Dog's Breed Says About You

While many “dog people” love all dogs, certain dog breeds have our hearts a little more than others. The breed we choose says something about our personality because oftentimes the dog’s personality matches our own. Here are some of the most popular breeds and what they may reveal about the people who love them.

German Shepherds

People who choose German Shepherds tend to be more extroverted, like this outgoing breed. Owners can get a little intense when they're bored and can be super protective of their loved ones. They have no problem stepping up and asserting themselves. They also tend to be active and sporty, just like their pet.

Beagle

Beagle owners are said to be happy-go-lucky people who love learning new things. They may be overly curious at times and get themselves into mischief. Beagle people are not too emotional and stay calm in stressful situations. They also make amazing friends.

Poodle

Poodle people make new friends easily. Sometimes they may come across arrogant because of their confidence and refined nature. They are sophisticated and intelligent, but know how to let their hair down and have a good time. Poodle lovers also tend to have big hearts.

Pug

Pug lovers are full of energy, and there’s never a dull moment with them. They have a playful nature but love their beauty sleep too. Pug people have a zest for life and a great sense of humor. Just like their pugs, owners enjoy being pampered. They tend to be open-minded and artistic.

Labradors and Golden Retrievers

Owners of these breeds put their families first and are said to be easy going. People who love these dogs are friendly, social butterflies just like their pets. They are outdoorsy people who enjoy hikes and walks. People find Lab and Golden lovers to be honest and trustworthy.

Bulldogs

Bulldog owners are said to be funny but stubborn at times. They may appear intimidating but are softies on the inside. They want to be surrounded by loved ones, especially kids. Curling up for a nice nap with their dog is a Bulldog lover’s idea of a perfect afternoon.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Cavalier owners like being around friends and family and don’t like being alone for very long. They are naturally reserved around those they don’t know well but are very loving. If there’s a task that needs to be done, you can count on a Cavalier owner to be on it!

Pit bull

Pit bull owners are very accepting people who are great at assessing situations. They are lovers, not fighters. The Pit bull breed is often stereotyped, which can make owners more sympathetic and open-minded. They don't care what anyone else thinks of them, and they are easygoing.

Boxer

Boxer owners find humor in all of life’s situations. They are playful and sometimes have trouble keeping a serious face. Boxer lovers are happy people who are honest, what you see is what you get with them.

Yorkie and Chihuahua

Toy breed lovers have a lot of sass, are fun-loving, and have big personalities! They are loyal to those they care about and don’t like to be alone. They are open-minded, but don’t like change. Owners are neat and orderly and take pride in their appearance. They can be a bit bossy at times, and they love proving people wrong when they are underestimated.

Boston Terrier

Terrier lovers may have a tough exterior, but they can be very sensitive. They make friends easily and have a good sense of humor. They are talkative but also great listeners. Terrier owners are said to be focused and are often feisty and competitive, just like their dogs.
