Tom Brady wants to play in the 2020s

So we're all thinking it now that the New England Patriots are 10-5 this season: how much more does Tom Brady have left in the tank?

He has been around forever, it seems, and the Patriots are not having as great of a season as usual. They're only really good this year as opposed to fantastic. It's a huge difference and if this is what is considered bad for the Patriots, then the fans better consider themselves pretty darn lucky. That said, also feel lucky that Tom Brady wants to keep playing football.

The 41-year-old quarterback does not have anything left to prove and we know his wife would rather he retire at this point for health reasons. His contract is set to expire following the 2019 season but does that mean he is going to call it a career after that? No.

ESPN's Mike Reiss asked him if he will play beyond 2019 and here is what he had to say.

"I absolutely believe I will," Brady said. "I know I've talked about it for a long time: I have goals to not only play next year, but beyond that," Brady said in his weekly interview on Westwood One. "I'm going to try to do it as best I possibly can. I'm going to give it everything I have, like I always have."

"It will certainly be a challenge," he added. "I don't take any of these things for granted, but I hope I can keep playing, and I hope I can keep playing at a championship level."

Yeah, so we should all be excited about this news. No offense to Matt Cassel or Jimmy G or Jacoby B, but watching the Patriots without Tom Brady under center has never been the same. Sorry. It's not as fun even when the results are positive.
