Tom Brady wants an NFL game in China

It seems like the New England Patriots have become the Harlem Globetrotters this offseason.

There’s been a bunch of guys on the team all over the place. Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola were in Mexico, promoting the league there. There’s all the guys who went on vacation somewhere that we don’t know about. And then there’s Tom Brady, who went to east Asia (specifically China and Japan) to promote the league. From that, we leaned that he wants to play a game in China.

Interesting thought, but we here on the east coast are at a 12 hour time difference with Bejing and people don’t really live in western China, so if they don’t mind their game being at 1:00 a.m. GMT +8 time and 1:00 p.m. our time and the Patriots still get eight home games at Gillette, then go for it. Definitely an interesting way to promote the game there. There’s a few issues though: lack of interest in American football, money (people make a lot more of it in the US), US-China relations. Maybe they’ll figure it out though.

Regardless, he did get a once-in-a-lifetime photo of himself throwing a football there.

Great Wall….

And then there was some sort of a Q&A where there were some “like father like son” moments where him and his son agreed on a lot of things–like that Katy Perry is great.

I agree guys. I agree. Both Lady Gaga and Katy Perry played halftime shows in great Patriots games and did a nice job, but come on… Obvious choice.

A couple days later, he then went to Japan and for some reason, he sumo wrestled his son.

There’s no official results there, but I think we can assume the Patriots quarterback’s size advantage paid off in that bout–unless he let his son win, which he may have.
