This Vermont Waterfall & Pool Is Like A Natural Water Park

If you can't take a vacation to the island of Jamaica this summer, how about a daytrip to Jamaica, Vermont instead?
Easy to find and seldom crowded, Jamaica's Pikes Falls features a waterfall, a large swimming hole, a smooth area of bedrock for picnicking, and a natural rock waterslide!
While it is certainly not the largest or most impressive waterfall in the state, Pikes Falls is quite lovely with a 20 foot high plunge that flows in two stages to a crystal clear pool below.
Perfect for cooling off, the chilly pool is 40 feet wide, 25 feet long and up to 10 feet deep in some areas.
Despite the depth, the water is calm and relatively safe for supervised children - and pups!
Pikes Falls is easily accessible, so transporting a picnic lunch from your car to the pool is simple, and the rocky shore makes a perfect natural dining spot.
It is also smooth enough to catch some rays and work on your tan.
Best of all, the bedrock doubles as a 10-15 foot waterside splashing down into the deep pool!
Ready to visit? Northeast Waterfalls gives the following directions to Pikes Falls:
Take Route 100/30 to Jamaica. Turn south on Pikes Falls Road. Bear right at the first fork in the road, still on Pikes Falls Road. In about 2.5 miles, bear right at the next fork, still on Pikes Falls Road. In about 2.5 miles, you'll see a dirt turnout on the left side of the road, across from a white house. There is a small sign on the tree adjacent to the parking area asking you to be respectful at the falls.
