This Rustic NH Restaurant Serves The Most Unique Pizzas Ever!

Blueberries, Nantucket bay scallops, and coffee aioli are probably not the first ingredients that come to mind when you think of pizza, but at The Burg in Pittsburg, New Hampshire it's all fair game!
Tucked away in the Great North Woods, the spot is a hidden gem and a locals' favorite.
From the outside, The Burg looks like a rustic farmhouse. The white clapboard exterior and screened porch do not betray the eccentric culinary creations that lie within.
At first glance, the menu seems similar to any other New England eatery serving American fare. They offer salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and fresh seasonal entrees. But upon closer inspection, the wonder of The Burg becomes clear.
The salads are not simple concoctions of lettuce and veggies. They are chef-designed creations made with freshly-foraged local ingredients and toppings like grilled lemon breadcrumbs, whipped blue cheese, and homemade candy apple vinaigrette dressing.
Grass-fed beef burgers are topped with onion-bacon jam, and served alongside homemade parmesan-roasted garlic crispy potatoes.
And then there are the pizzas.
You have the option of keeping it simple with a plain cheese pizza or pedestrian toppings like pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and onions.
Or you can choose one of the perfectly charred, incredibly unique house specialties.
There's The Fenway, with Budweiser Italian sausage, charred onion-pepper jam and pickled mustard; the Wood Roasted Squash, with hot honey, ricotta and sage; and the popular blueberry pizza, complete with smoked mozzarella, house bacon, and smoked maple syrup.
Especially brave diners have the option of "Rolling the Dice" and allowing the chef to choose their destiny with a series of limited-time specialty pizzas like the "Scallops Wrapped in Bacon" with wood roasted Nantucket bay scallops and smoked bacon-brown sugar jam.
As if that weren't enough, The Burg also serves homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches for dessert - some that also feature delicious New Hampshire blueberries.
