This Roof-Top Bar Has The Perfect Way To Beat The Winter Chill

Just because the temperature drops doesn’t mean Bostonians have to spend their evening out trapped inside! Last month the Envoy Hotel’s Lookout Rooftop & Bar added the perfect winter accessory – heated plastic igloos! Now patrons can enjoy the lovely views of Downtown Boston from the warmth and comfort of their own personal pods!

Made from thick PVC, the igloos allow guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city, without the chill of the elements.

The six heated igloos are lit with neon-colored lights, and seat eight to 10 people. The coziness comes from large fire pits that surround the pods and individual heaters set into the ceilings.

The igloos are open for business, serving drinks only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests can choose from an array of craft cocktails, micro brews, and wines.

When it comes time to order another round, you don’t have to draw straws to decide who braves the cold and hits the bar – just flip a switch and a red lightbulb will appear, letting the servers know they are needed!

Eater Boston says “the setup closely resembles the one at 230 Fifth in New York, which has views of the Empire State Building and much of the city skyline.”

Although the Outlook Kitchen’s extensive menu is not available for order in the igloos, it’s definitely worth dining early before heading to the rooftop! They feature classic American dishes from seafood, steaks and chops to exquisite desserts.
