Enjoy Soul Food, Cocktails & Rockabilly At Medford's Nashville-Inspired Hot Spot

Wakefield's favorite spot for soul food and live music is expanding. The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint just opened a new, larger location in Medford, and the owners promise it is better than ever.

The spot is a reimagining of the original location which closed in 2018.

Chef/owner Jonathan Post along with his partner Cenk Emre will once again bring music, food, and cocktails to the Boston area inspired by Post's Nashville roots.

Southern appetizers include hush puppies and crave-worthy deviled eggs. 

Post recommends the Nashville hot chicken, shrimp and grits, barbecue pork ribs, cornmeal crusted catfish, or hearty oyster stew for dinner.

Then there's the whole hog program for which a custom-built, 1,000-pound wood-fired smoker was built in the restaurant.

Just make sure you save room for the homemade banana pudding. 

The bar also offers plenty of Tennessee flair with cocktails made from moonshine, rum and rye as well as a heavy focus on whiskey.

Just because the Porch is southern themed doesn't mean you can't find a locally-sourced craft brew from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. 

Post even commissioned paintings of fan favorite Nashville musicians like George Jones, Willie Nelson, and Dolly Parton.

To round out your Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint experience, stay and listen to local and regional music with a focus on alt-country, blues, and rockabilly. Maybe you'll witness the next great country star in action!

The Porch’s first show at their new Medford hot spot takes place this Saturday July 20 with the Nashville band The Minks.
