The Herald says Gronk isn't a first ballot HOFer

Alright, so if you're looking for something to be outraged over and for someone to tell you what you want to hear, you have come to the right article. It's going to be the correct take, but also assuring to those of you who might be a little upset right now.

So an article came out in The Boston Herald about Rob Gronkowski asking if he were to retire right now if he would be a first ballot Hall of Famer. They said that would not be the case. We are here to tell you that, with all due respect to the second biggest paper in the city, they are incorrect.

Sure, maybe some jerk would leave him off their ballot because they do it to all sorts of legends in the sports industry. But off the top of your head, can you think of a definitively better tight end in NFL history (when they were healthy and everything is going right?). Some might say Tony Gonzalez, but the list doesn't extend much deeper than that (and some might even object to that assessment).

Gronk already has 79 career touchdown catches (plus a rush). In terms of TD receptions, he is tied for 28th most all-time, but is in the top-five among tight ends which has to count for something, right?

He has helped the Patriots win three Super Bowls and has battled back from a bunch of different injuries. What else more is there to say about the guy? He is a beast. He will be a Hall of Famer. Maybe some of these nerds will keep him out of the Hall of Fame for a little while, or maybe they will watch some tape of him playing and realize there's no use in keeping him away.

So yeah: Rob Gronkowski: Hall of Famer (one day).
