Superfan Sale at Boston Sold Out

Boston Calling was a three day music festival that premiered biannually every year during the end of May in Boston’s City Hall Plaza. It’s an event where the biggest artists in the music industry showcase their talent alongside some lesser known bands. While Sia started the show this year by giving chills to the audience, there were plenty of other notable performances throughout the three days. The superfan sale at Boston sold out further proving the popularity of the event.

The reception Boston Calling’s getting is huge which likely prompted the festival to get an upgrade. Yes, Boston calling will stray from tradition and be held at the much more spacious Harvard’s Athletic Complex in Allston next year. Not only that, we will no longer be seeing a fall version of the event.

Yes, we’ll only get it once a year from now, but there’s a whole lot of positive changes. There will be more stages and we’ll be seeing a film festival curated by Oscar-winning actress, Natalie Portman. Not to mention they already have Grammy-nominated Aaron Dessner of The National curating music. Combine this with a super talented lineup of music artists, and entertainment is pretty much guaranteed.

Which is why they released 1,000 three-day “Superfan” passes for next year’s festival last Thursday. And guess what? These tickets costing $129 (or $229 for VIPs) for an event that’s literally a year away have already sold out. Boston Calling was looking for Superfans who would buy their presale tickets and it looks like they didn’t have to try too hard. The Superfan Presale tickets have all been snatched up but more tickets will be available during the general onsale. If these presales are any type of indicator and you’re a music enthusiast who’s into having a good time, Harvard’s Athletic Complex is where you’ll want to be on the 26, 27 and 28 of May next year.
