Sports Illustrated believes in the Bruins

OK, this is rather epic.

Sports Illustrated might be going down faster than Kesha can yell "timber", but that has not stopped them from putting out some killer takes as of late -- in a good way, of course.

I know sometimes we can be hard on publications if they start doubting Boston sports teams (or even Foxboro/Foxborough teams) a little too much, but I must say that SI deserves credit. Sure, their print numbers are declining and they are trying to make "The Maven" happen -- which is going to be a train wreck -- but let's just give them one moment in the sun for now.

They did an NHL power ranking, and the Bruins are their No. 1 team. That makes sense because the Bruins are off to a 9-1-2 start, but it is nice to see someone in the media affirm it.

Here is what they have to say about the Bruins. And I quote:

"Treat: Secondary scoring is overrated when David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand are obliterating everyone they face. Pastrnak leads the league with 12 goals and 24 points, and his five-game goal streak only ended when he collected five assists in the Bruins 7–4 win against the Rangers. Combined, Boston’s trio is averaging over two goals per game and haven’t slowed since last season."

Right now, you would have to say they are correct. This is quite a good hockey team and while they might not be able to keep up this blazing hot clip, it does give you hope that they will go somewhere this season -- which is much-needed after the disappointment we call the 2018-2019 NHL season. One game made the difference there so hopefully, the Bruins are in a spot where it doesn't come down to one game at any point.
