Somerville Spot Features Daily Artisan Hotdogs & Seasonal Pie Specials

Trina's Starlight Lounge opened its doors to fun-loving patrons  in 2009. The company motto is "There’s nothing more that we love better than high fives, cold beer and fried chicken," and the quirky Southern inspired menu and laid-back atmosphere are a perfect reflection of just that!

Nine years later, Trina's is a local favorite in Somerville's Inman Square with a second location in Amesbury.

They offer an extensive list of craft cocktails like the Ray Donovan, made with Egan’s Irish whiskey, cinnamon syrup, Harpoon stout, and walnut bitters.

Trina's also favors simple beers like Miller High Life and offerings from local breweries.

When it comes to the menu, the Southern soul food inspiration is evident with dishes like Fried Green Tomatoes, Vidalia Onion & Collard Green Dip, and delicious Fried Chicken served with hot pepper syrup.

But Trina's really sets themself apart when it comes to their daily hotdog specials (#dogoftheday) and their limited availability seasonal dessert pies.

Plain griddle dogs, tofu pups, corn dogs, chili cheese dogs and Starlight-style dogs are regular menu items, and a quick scan through the main Facebook page reveals several past Dog of the Day creations.

There's the Prosciutto Basil Dog...

The Hawaii 5.0 Dog...

The Okey Dokey Artichokey Dog...

And the Spice Up Your Life Dog - just to name a few!

As for the pie selection, it is just as diverse and creative as you would expect from folks who put jalapenos, sour cream and pineapple chunks on their hotdogs!

The options run the gamut from stylized fruit pies to chocolate cream and candy-inspired cheesecakes.

But the real artistry comes in with the holiday-themed selections!

The latest option to bring sweet-toothed customers running is March's St. Patrick's Day inspired Lucky Charms Cheesecake.

This colorful creation features layered yellow and blue cake in a graham cracker crust, topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a generous sprinkling of everyone's favorite leprechaun marshmallow and sugar cereal.
