Rob Gronkowski says he might play in the NFL again

To everyone who thought Rob Gronkowski was going to announce his return on Tuesday: that's a shame. Sorry about that. However, there is good news.

Maybe this is Gronk just teasing the world in order to keep the attention up every time he has a new sponsor (a pretty genius idea, if you think about it), but he did say that he is not ruling out an NFL comeback.

Now, this doesn't mean Gronk is going to lace up the pads and play for the Patriots this season. That would be sweet if he came back and helped the team to Super Bowl victory. However, it's possible in the future.

The downside though is that Gronk could end up playing somewhere other than the Patriots. Now, I really hope that is not the case, but all I'm saying is the Patriots are not the only NFL team out there and they might have other plans in the future (and even a different coach depending on how far down the line we're talking).

Gronk isn't as bulky as he was when he played in the NFL, but he said he is staying in shape. Now why would a guy who is loaded do that unless he wanted to play football again? He has money. He doesn't need looks. Everyone knows that...

According to ESPN, he did joke that the team is missing him though. He said it following that ugly 17-10 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

"The defense is just tremendous, the way they're coming together with the veteran leadership they have there, and the skill set they have. With the offense, they're finding ways to make it work like they've always done, putting guys in the right situation to make plays. But man, they're missing some guy who is 6-6, 260 [pounds]. They're missing that guy, for sure," -- Gronk

He's right, sadly...
