Framingham-Based Chef Specializes In Cannabis Ice Cream

Marijuana-related businesses are popping up all over Massachusetts, but Cloud Creamery may be the most unique. The cannabis ice cream company based in Framingham is the brain child of chef David Yusefzadeh.

Yusefzadeh is the designated chef at Eat Sacrilicious events, a company that puts on "cannabis-infused culinary experiences for the distinguished diner."

He became the founder and CEO of Cloud Creamery, the first edibles company of its kind on the East Coast, after experiencing the healing effects of cannabis for himself.

Yusefzadeh was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2011 and began using cannabis to deal with the pain and function in his every day life.

When marijuana became legal in Massachusetts, the chef knew he wanted to share what he'd learned with the community.

According to the Cloud Creamery website, the company's "mission is to offer a thoughtful and delicious alternative to opioids and steroids."

They use local grass-fed milk, organic cane sugar and all-natural ingredients to create all of their decadent full-fat ice creams.

Past flavor concoctions have includes:

Saffron ice cream with pistachio shortbread cookie.

Cap’n Crunch Berry Cereal milk ice cream

Black Sesame and Miso Caramel ice cream inspired by deep fried black sesame savory mochi bites.

And, cinnamon ice cream with beer caramel made from Down the Road Brewery’s Brown Ale, salted pretzels and popcorn.

Cloud Creamery does not currently have a physical retail shop, but their Facebook page promises their ice cream is "coming to a dispensary near you."
