No Doubt: the Boston Celtics are on the Rise

Even in a year when Danny Ainge said he does not believe his team could win an NBA Championship, the Boston Celtics are legit.

Right now, the Celtics are playing their best basketball on the season. They have won nine of their last ten games, putting themselves in third place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. ESPN has them plugged at No. 6 in the power rankings — high praise given how dominant the Western Conference looks this season.

Regardless of how they end up doing in the postseason, which still is not for a couple more months, there is no reason why the Celtics can’t just keep playing their best basketball. Former Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo said he would like to see the Celtics take control of the Atlantic Division over the Toronto Raptors. Currently, they are five games behind them and seven games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for first place in the east.

And oddly enough, the Celtics have been led by the man who replaced Rondo — at least from a scoring standpoint. He was named the league’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his strong performance last week, helping the Celtics win all four of their games in that time span.

So far this season, the 5-foot-9 point guard is averaging 21.4 points per game with 6.6 assists.

Winning and chemistry go hand-and-hand, and the Celtics appear to have excellent chemistry this season. There might be a few guys with some bigger numbers in certain categories, but they do not have anyone who would be considered a superstar or anything like that.

Just remember too: it will only get better from here. The average age of a Celtics player this season is just 25 years old.  Not to mention they have an abundance of draft picks over the next few seasons.
