"Night Lights" At This Botanical Garden Is A Magical Experience For All

Beginning on Black Friday, the Tower Hill Botanical Garden in Boylston, MA will transform from a tranquil scenic sanctuary into an enchanting winter wonderland. The festive "Night Lights" event takes place every Tuesday through Sunday from November 23 until December 30.

Tower Hill Botanic Garden consists of 175 acres of meticulously manicured land, including 17 gardens. While gorgeous in the spring and summer, the sanctuary really comes alive when illuminated by thousands of colorful Christmas lights.

The family-friendly walk winds through roughly 15 acres of formal gardens and surrounding woodlands, all lit up with colorful lights, including a walk through the firefly forest.

The trail ends at the Wild Rumpus, a huge stickwork sculpture created by artist, Patrick Dougherty, and his team of volunteers.

"Patrick Dougherty bends, weaves, and flexes locally sourced saplings into architectural sculptures which are unique to the setting and dynamically relate to the landscape and built environment around them," reads the Tower Hill website. "Over the last 30 years, he has built more than 250 of these works. His award winning sculptures have been seen worldwide — from Scotland to Japan to Brussels, and all over the United States."

Visitors to "Night Lights" may also take refuge from the cold with indoor displays of holiday decorations and a model train village.

Be sure to visit the cafe where the culinary team of the Farmer and the Fork will be serving soup, homemade mac and cheese, creative harvest salad bowls, desserts, adult beverages, and sandwiches.

A separate concession stand will offer lighter fare such as warm apple cider donuts, creative Kayem hot dogs, and hot beverages, such as mulled cider, to sip while strolling the property.

Hours are Tuesdays to Thursdays from 4 to 9 p.m., and Fridays to Sundays from 4 to 10 p.m. Tickets must be purchased online at www.towerhillbg.org.
