You Can Now Cruise Salem Harbor On A Private Tropical Tiki Boat

Summer in Salem has been extended until October 31 this year.

The town is notorious for its over-the-top Halloween antics, but you won't find witches and warlocks on the "Tiki Time," a tropical themed boat with its own floating tiki bar.

The "boat" looks as if it was plucked directly off a Carribean beach and dropped into Salem Harbor. It is entirely flat, with a thatch-roofed tiki bar that seats six, a tiny bathroom, and not much else.

Owners, Karen LaBelle-Paszkowski and Scott “Paz” Paszkowski launched Tiki Hut Boats late in the season and plan to offer 90-minute cruises through the end of October.

The cruises are intended for a maximum of six guests, and offer a selection of cocktails, beer, wine, sodas, and snacks. There will also be frozen drinks as well as Bloody Marys and mimosas on the weekend, plus four or five weekly drink specials.

As you cruise at a relaxing 5 mph, the owners will play steel drum music or your choice of tunes.

A pair of mechanical talking macaws will also add to the Carribean vibe.

The idea for the boat was inspired by the Florida-based Cruisin’ Tiki franchise, and it is the first of its kind in the Boston area.

Tiki Hut Boats is currently booking cruises on weekday evenings and all day on weekends through October 31 when they will close down for the season.
