Massachusetts' Oldest Bakery Has Been Open 42,736 Days & Counting!

Lyndell's Bakery in Somerville, MA proudly displays a ticker on their website tracking each day they have been in business. As of the writing of this post, that number stands at 42,736 - that's 6,105 weeks; 1,424 months; or 132 years. 

In addition to being MA's most historic pastry shop, Lyndell's is also one of the country’s oldest retail “scratch” bakeries, serving freshly baked cakes, pastries, pies, and breads since 1887.

What is it about Lyndell's that keeps customers coming back for more? Perhaps it's the daily selection of fresh, hand-made offerings prepared with baking methods perfected before the invention of the modern automobile!
