Lots of Bruins players will skip the China trip

Not everyone in the world wants to go to China.

This is not only the case for Americans. It could also be the case for Europeans, Asians, Australians, Africans, Antarcticans and humans of planet earth who live somewhere that is not immediately identifiable with a continent. That's just the way it is (and things will never be the same).

So what exactly does this have to do with the Boston Bruins? Well, not all of them are going to China this time around--for one reason or another. Personally, I would prefer to not go there for the simple fact that the air quality is a little bit lower and I'd get sick of eating Chinese food every meal for a week. It seems like a lot of Bruins players are agreeing with this logic as many of them will not be making the trip to Chi-town (pronounced Chai town).

According to Yahoo! Sports (yes, people still use Yahoo!, and there is an exclamation point), Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron, Torey Krug, Anders Bjork and Noel Acciari will not be going over to China. They will stay in Boston working with the training staff as they recover from injuries--which just goes to show you how beat up the Bruins are before their season has even started. Pretty crazy if you think about it--especially since Bergeron (groin), Krug (ankle), Bjork (shoulder), will at least miss some preseason games.

Oh, and Sean Kuraly and Danton Heinen won't be making the trip; they already made the team's goodwill trip to China earlier in the year, so why should they have to go again?

So the Bruins season really starts on October 3 versus the Washington Capitals. That's when the hockey really starts to matter, for those of you who are not exactly enamored by the preseason. OK? OK!
