Gordon Hayward on the Celtics would be ight

Let’s make something very clear: the Boston Celtics are one of the best teams in the NBA, but they are nowhere near being THE best team in the NBA. See, the sentence changes when you emphasize different things.

But you know what? They have the pieces to BE the best team in the NBA–maybe. Or, they could come a lot closer to it, especially if LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant were to quit basketball and take up knitting instead.

With the No. 1 pick, the Celtics could make themselves better. Then, they could always go out and add Gordon Hayward via free agency. Now that would be the kind of splash these guys could need.

21.9 points per game. 5.4 rebounds per game. Small forward. Yes please is what the Celtics must be saying. And you know what, they are; they’re pursuing him. They might even be favored to get him, so yeah….

And then, of course, there’s the conspiracy theorists out there putting 6 and 12 together to get 3045. But I mean, if you wanna play conspiracy theory, call Alex Jones and leave me alone. But, here’s some little things on social media that might help the case.

You know who else wears shirts? The Boston Celtics! Oh, and the shirts are green! And that shirt says go green! So yeah. Might as well retire his number right now.

And then:

I mean, why else would Isaiah Thomas follow him on Instagram other than to bug the hell out of him with comments like: you know that ice cream would taste better if you played for the Celtics. And: that’s an ugly shirt. A Celtics shirt would be cooler.

And then Al Horford will threaten to beat him up if he doesn’t sign in Boston. Plus, he can like all of Thomas’ comments (maybe. I don’t know. I don’t instagram (if that’s a verb)).

So yeah, you should probably just custom order a Hayward jersey right now. But then again, that’d be like $150, so maybe just do something else–something better–with your money, like buy one of our t-shirts (or several) for much less.
