Garth Brooks Will Perform A Drive-In Concert Seen At 3 MA Locations

Country music superstar Garth Brooks has postponed the earlier dates on his upcoming stadium tour due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn't mean you can't see him perform.

Brooks announced he plans to put on a concert that will be broadcast to more than 300 drive-in movie theaters across the United States and Canada.

Three of those venues are in Massachusetts including the Mendon Twin Drive-In, Northfield Drive-In, and the upcoming pop-up drive-in at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.

All showings of “Garth Brooks: A Drive-In Concert Experience” will take place on Saturday, June 27 at 8:30 p.m. The event is produced by Encore Live, a leading event production company.

“I am so excited to get to play again. I have missed it so much and want to get back to it,” Brooks said in a press release. “This drive-in concert allows us all to get back to playing live music without the uncertainty of what would be the result to us as a community. This is old school, new school, and perfect for the time we are in.”

Tickets go on sale Friday June 19 at noon through Ticketmaster. They will be sold by the carload for $100 with a six person per vehicle maximum - that means you can see one of country's greatest legends for as little as $16.66!

As the best-selling solo artist in Billboard history, Brooks' shows have consistently sold out since he came on the scene in the 1990s.

Before the pandemic hit, Brooks gave a performance at Six String Grill & Stage in Foxborough on February 5. It was a small, intimate show for the superstar who is used to selling out major stadiums across the globe.

How will fans will react to this new musical platform? Could drive-in concerts become the new normal in our socially-distanced world?

“Families need safe entertainment options that they can enjoy together this summer,” said Encore Live Founder and CEO Walter Kinzie. “We’re excited to partner with Garth, who’s already done so much to help the entertainment industry during these tough times, to provide a truly unique and incredible concert that will do a whole lot of good for local businesses and communities.”
