Duckling Day Features Boston's Cutest Parade

Make Way for Ducklings is Boston's most beloved children's book. Each year, The Friends of the Public Garden celebrate Mother’s Day and the book's timeless legacy with its annual Duckling Day events.
The beloved tradition has taken place for more than three decades, with more than 1,000 people attending each year.
The main event consists of children dressed as characters from Robert McCloskey’s classic book marching through the picturesque parks of Boston, led by the Harvard Marching Band.
Some families and groups opt to decorate their wagons or strollers, resulting in Boston's most adorable parade!
The parade begins on the Boston Common at the Parkman Bandstand and ends in the Public Garden near the famous Make Way for Ducklings sculptures.
Prior to the parade, The Friends of the Public Garden, along with the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department, host Playtime on the Common featuring crafts, face painters, a magician, circus games, and additional family-friendly entertainment.
