Celebrate A “Nightmarish” Halloween With The Boston Pops
Are you looking for a classy, cultured alternative to the typical Halloween shenanigans? How about spending your Halloween or Halloween-eve with the Boston Pops?
Put on your best Tim Burton-inspired costume, grab the kids, and join the Pops at Boston Symphony Hall for a classic movie set to music, and an evening of contests and decadent treats!
Under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart, the orchestra will perform the entire score to Tim Burton’s 1993 animated classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Their musical stylings will accompany a screening of the full feature film for an immersive experience.
The event is family-friendly and features an hour of gourmet trick-or-treating for all ages prior to the start of the film. Those who hit all of the hall’s treat stations will win a special prize.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is rated PG and tells the story of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town. Bored with the same yearly routine of frightening humans, Jack wanders into neighboring Christmas Town and falls in love with the bright colors and cheer. He hatches a misguided plan to kidnap Santa Clause and control Christmas forever!
The original film score was written by legendary composer Danny Elfman, and was the first animated film nominated for an Oscar for best visual effects. Orchestral performances of the score have sold out across the country.
Tickets for The Nightmare Before Christmas are $45 to $95. The event will take place at Symphony Hall on Halloween and Halloween Eve – Monday, October 30 and Tuesday, October 31 – at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 pm.
