Castle Island Brewing's New Beer Garden Offers Stunning Harbor Views

Norwood-based Castle Island Brewing Co. has finally joined the ranks of local breweries like Trillium and Slumbrew by opening their own summer beer garden.

The brand new spot features incredible views of Boston Harbor, the city skyline, and even Old Ironsides!

The beer garden made its debut on Sunday, August 5 at Constitution Wharf in Charlestown.

The brewery originally intended to take over the space beneath I-93 for the summer, but several stops and stalls derailed that plan.

It seems things may have worked out for the best, according to founder and president of Castle Island Brewery Co., Adam Romanow.

“We’re incredibly excited about this new location,” Romanow said in a press release last week. “Between the unbelievable views of the harbor and the city, and the proximity to the iconic USS Constitution, we could not be happier with where we’ve landed.”

Constitution Wharf is located along the famous Harbor Walk and can be accessed by bus, water taxi, or a 15 minute walk from North Station. There is also on-site parking.

The spot features umbrella-covered picnic tables surrounding a 20-tap draft trailer stocked with Castle Island favorites like Keeper IPA, American Lager, Hi-Def, and Candlepin.

During its late-summer run, the beer garden will also debut limited-release brews like Hawaiian Train Wreck, a sour ale with pineapple.

Non-beer lovers may also choose from a selection of wines, and possibly food pop-ups in the coming weeks.

After its Sunday debut,The Castle Island Charlestown beer garden shut down to prepare for their first full weekend, starting this Thursday, August, 9. They plan to be open Thursday - Sunday through October.
