Head To Dorchester For A Burger Worthy Of The Title "Gourmet"

Burgers probably aren't the first item that comes to mind when you think of gourmet food, but the five-star creations atΒ BRED Gourmet in Dorchester may just change your mind!

Tambo Barrow founded the restaurant in January 2015. He often draws inspiration for his unique burgers from local Boston flavors, his own West Indian roots, and just about any other culture that happens to inspire him at the moment.

Take for example, the Maui burger. Made with grass fed beef, grilled pineapple, pepper jack cheese, crispy onions, sweet plantains, grilled ham and barbecue sauce on a potato bun.

Barrow says it has everything that makes Bred special. It is made using local barbecue sauce from M&M Rib’s BBQ food truck, as well as plantains - a dietary staple in both Barbados and Trinidad & Tobego where Barrow's parents are from.

Another decadent favorite is the Parisian burger, made with a bison patty, caramelized onion, Applewood smoked bacon, brie cheese, sautΓ©ed mushrooms, truffle aioli and a free range egg on a brioche bun.

Those looking for something a bit lighter can try the jerk salmon burger, turkey burger, or sweet potato veggie burger.Β

Barrow tries to steer his less adventurous patrons towards the BRED burger, a classic, but decadent take on the traditional burger. It consists of a grass-fed beef patty topped with American cheese, applewood smoked bacon, pickles, lettuce, onion, tomato, and chipotle lime aioli on a brioche bun.

As for your side, choose from hand-cut fries, sweet potato fries, parmesan truffle fries, Cajun fries, asparagus, or fried plantains.

Instead of the traditional milkshake, BRED serves up fresh fruit smoothies you can choose to infuse with protein, antioxidants, almond butter, and/or a pre-workout vitamin blend.

Flavors include the Mean Green with kale, spinach, green apple, pineapple, and agave; and the Tom Brady concocted from a blend of raspberry, strawberry, banana, coconut, and almond milk.Β

BRED Gourmet is proof that five-star dining doesn't have to be stuffy. Stop in for one of Barrow's next level burgers at 2255 Dorchester Ave. Monday through Saturday.
