Airboarding Is Kind Of Like Tubing Only Much Better

Have you ever heard of airboarding? It's kind of like bodyboarding minus the waves and plus a whole lot of snow! If you are searching for a new winter adventure, head to Smugglers' Notch Resort in South Jeffersonville, Vermont.

An Airboard is similar to your average snow tube in that it is an inflated sled, but when it comes to size, it is more comparable to an inflatable water raft. They are 48” long and weigh about six pounds.

Airboards are A-shaped and lightweight for speed and maneuverability, so rather than simply sliding down the trail, you can cut turns and pull tricks as you go.

Every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm certain trails at the Morse Highlands area of the resort are designated for airboarding.

Riders must be at least 12 years old and 49” tall. Everyone, regardless of age, must also wear a helmet and attend a short instructional clinic before hitting the slopes.

In addition to being fun and exciting, airboarding is also super affordable! Smuggler's Notch charges just $25 for instruction, airboard rental and 1 hour of riding!

Airboarding is available December 7, 2018 - April 7, 2019, weather depending.

There is certainly no shortage of activities to enjoy this winter at Smuggler's Notch. In addition to skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and ice skating, they also offer zip lining, snow mobile tours, an indoor pool and hot tubs, as well as their brand new Fun Zone 2.0, a 26,000 square foot family entertainment complex complete with ball pits, obstacle courses, bouncy castles, an arcade and laser tag.

Plan your winter getaway here!
