About Red Sox September call-ups....

OK. Wanna do September call-ups?

I sure as heck do. This is legit the last year we get to do it in this format and make picks and all that. Next year, teams will only be able to call up two extra guys. This year it's upwards of 15. Obviously, they won't do that many, but it could be seven or eight. You get the idea.

Here's a look at who the Red Sox could bring up as September call-ups.

Michael Chavis -- He's rehabbing in Pawtucket, so they might wait til rosters expand to bring him back..

Colten Brewer -- In 27 MLB outings after Memorial Day this season, the righty put up a 2.88 ERA. He's pitched well enough to get another shot in the Red Sox bullpen.

Ryan Weber -- Could he give the Red Sox a better start the say, Brian Johnson? It's possible. He has a 4.35 ERA in 11 MLB outings this season, including three starts.

Travis Lakins -- The rookie has been called up a couple times already this season and made nine relief outings (4.05 ERA), so I can't see why they wouldn't go for it again.

Bobby Poyner -- The lefty has a 3.33 ERA and 64 strikeouts in 54 Triple-A innings this season. Worth a shot.

Bobby Dalbec -- 25 home runs in the minors this season? Come on down, top corner infield prospect! This is someone the organization views highly and frankly, the fans should as well.

Tzu-Wei Lin -- Ah, what the heck? Why not? He's not hitting so well in Triple-A this season, but he's a versatile body, who has played in 75 games for the team over the past three seasons.

Maybe they'll give Hector Velazquez a shot, but he has struggled with command in Triple-A, so perhaps not....

Tanner Houck (2.45 ERA in 13 Triple-A outings) would be cool too, but we'll see.

And if they need a third catcher, Juan Centeno is the PawSox starting catcher, just saying...
