The Jaswell family are fourth-generation apple farmers. The Rhode Island acreage was originally purchased in 1899 and today offers a immersive family experience with apple, pumpkin and blueberry picking and a large window overlooking the massive cider operation. The mill was added in 1970, and in 1998, the family added a pasteurizer.

In addition to their fresh, delicious cider, Jaswell’s also offers a wide selection of baked goods made on site including pies, apple cider donuts and handcrafted, two-pound candy apples coated in caramel or milk chocolate, and adorned with your choice of decadent toppings like Twix, Oreos and pecans

White Mountain Cider Co.
Bartlett, New Hampshire

The White Mountain Cider Company takes this cold, fall refreshment to another level with their cider slushies. The cider mill and restaurant operate out of an original 1890s farmhouse. Enjoy slushies and deli sandwiches by day, and delicacies like cider-braised pork and Cidertini cocktails by night. Don’t forget to try the signature dessert – warm, homemade cider donuts topped with caramel-drizzled ice cream.

B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill
Old Mystic, Connecticut

B.F. Clyde has been producing hard cider for 135 years, and is America’s last steam-powered cider mill. The original 1898 machinery is still in operation today. Nearly 75 tons of Hudson Valley apples are handpicked each week during the fall to be made into good old fashioned sweet cider, as well as apple wines and alcohol-infused ciders like the popular pumpkin-spiced Spider Cider.

Stop by for a free tasting any day from September through early December or enjoy a cider-making demonstration with the whole family on an October or November weekend.

The 7-acre Bear Swamp Orchard grows more than 60 apple varieties each fall to be turned into delicious unpasteurized cider and their coveted organic hard ciders, crafted in small batches inside a solar-powered cider mill.

Tastings are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the harvest and Saturdays-only through December.

Cold Hollow Cider Mill
Waterbury, Vermont

The vintage apple press at Cold Hollow operates daily during the fall. Enjoy traditional cider or sample some of their new hard ciders, including Barn Dance (made in collaboration with Boyden Valley Winery). The bakery is beloved for its cider donuts, apple crisps and pies, apple butter, cider honey vinegar, cider vinaigrette, cider-chipotle BBQ sauce, and their number one mail order and in-store product: cider jelly.
