5 Boston Restaurants Featuring Fenway Franks & Themed Cocktails In Honor Of Opening Day
As I’m sure you already know, April 3 is opening day at Fenway Park. Sadly, most of us have jobs, school or family obligations that will keep us from perching in the bleachers with a draft beer and a hot dog when the Red Sox take on the Pirates at 2:05 Monday afternoon.
In honor of Boston’s boys of summer, several local restaurants will serve the very same Kayem Fenway Franks you know and love from the park. AND, the world famous Cask n’ Flagon has dreamed up a few awesome Sox-themed cocktails to commemorate the start of the season. So if you can’t be at Fenway, at least you can still eat and drink like you are!
1. City Tap House, 10 Boston Wharf Rd., Boston
You can’t get a loaded chili-cheese dog at Fenway, but you can at City Tap House! They open at 11:30, and will be serving Fenway Franks all day. For just $8, you can enjoy a Narragansett Tall Boy Beer and a chili-cheese frank! That deal is so good, you can have two or three while you watch the game highlights and replays on one of 11 HDTVs!
2. Tamo Bistro & Bar, 1 Seaport Lane, Boston
This upscale Bistro is going to the dogs come Monday – the hot dogs that is! Get two official Fenway Franks served with chips for just $14. It’s a great spot to enjoy lovely waterfront views and a wide array of cocktails just three miles from the park.
3. South Street Diner, 178 Kneeland St., Boston
What could be better than free? How about the chance to win Sox tickets?! South Street Diner is offering free Fenway Franks with the purchase of a beer from 11 AM to 10 PM. They will be airing the game and raffling off tickets. Show up in your Red Sox attire and you’re automatically entered to win!
4. Coppersmith, 40 West 3rd St., Boston
Coppersmith features “globally-influenced comfort food in a vintage industrial warehouse.” They won’t be serving authentic Fenway Franks on Monday, but this spot may still be worth a drop-in, especially if you’ve got the day off and are looking for a place to watch the game. They have two 12-foot projection screens and several other flat screens around the bar. Opening day specials include $2 hot dogs, soft pretzel sticks, sweet potato tater tots and homemade sausages.
5. Cask ‘n Flagon, 62 Brookline Ave., Boston
Once you get your fill of hot dogs, head to the Fenway Park-area Cask n’ Flagon location for some delicious Fenway-themed cocktails. Try a Green Monstah made with Cruzan citrus rum, fresh lemon juice, Midori, and peach liqueur for $9.95. The Beamed with a Ball specials are liquor-infused ice balls reminiscent of Italian ice and made with orange juice and grenadine, drenched in Jim Beam, and topped with Cointreu, for $11.

Not a big hot dog fan? Spend the whole day at Cask n’ Flagon where there’s a full menu of delicious bar favorites and 60 HD screens to catch the game highlights. Glenn Ordway, Lou Merloni, and Christian Fauria from WEEI Sports Radio Network will broadcast live from between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
